After exile under previous management, the England star returns to Carrington following the World Cup to join Michael Carrick’s squad alongside high-profile new signings Andrey Santos and Youri Tielemans.
Marcus Rashford's future at Manchester United is currently the most complicated topic at Old Trafford.
The United Academy graduate has spent the last season and a half on loan at Aston Villa and then Barcelona after he was exiled from the squad under Rúben Amorim following a perceived lack of discipline and dedication.
His loan deal at Barcelona contained a £26 million option to buy the player before mid-June, although the La Liga giants opted against triggering the clause, instead signing left-winger Anthony Gordon from Newcastle for £70 million.
With Amorim now at AC Milan and Michael Carrick in charge of the squad, debate has been raging surrounding whether the England international should be given a new shot at life at Old Trafford.
Rashford to be reintegrated into training
Currently, Rashford is out with Thomas Tuchel's England as they prepare to face Argentina in the semi-finals of the 2026 World Cup. The game will kick off in Atlanta at 15:00 local time.
It has been previously reported that Rashford and Carrick are set for face-to-face talks regarding his future once the World Cup ends as United look to find the best possible solution for all parties involved.
However, according to The Athletic, the 28-year-old is already set to be reintegrated into the first-team training squad once he returns from the United States.
All United players who competed in the World Cup will be handed three weeks off from the date they exited the competition.
New faces in training expected
When Rashford returns to training, there will be many familiar faces to great him, although some new ones will no doubt introduce themselves, too.
New signing Andrey Santos, who arrived for a £50 million package from Chelsea on Monday, has already started training with the group, while Youri Tielemans is expected to join them soon.
The Belgium national team captain has joined the club from Aston Villa in a £35 million transfer, and reportedly underwent his medical late on Monday afternoon.
Tielemans will likely conduct his media duties and sign his new contract Tuesday, although it's expected that he will not join team training for a few weeks. Belgium were knocked out of the World Cup last week by Spain, so he will have holiday before starting training.
Another face who will greet Rashford upon his return is set to be Wales international goalkeeper Karl Darlow, who is joining the club on a free transfer from Leeds United to play a supportive role to current first-choice Senne Lammens.
