Michael Carrick made several changes from the side that fell to a 3-2 defeat against Brighton in midweek as Manchester United travelled to face Fulham at Craven Cottage on Sunday afternoon.
The Premier League tie started with both sides struggling for dominance, although neither team created any clear-cut chances early on. Bruno Fernandes hit the post after 25 minutes, while Senne Lammens then had to beat away multiple big Fulham chances.
A few chances fell to the likes of Marcus Rashford and Fernandes, but a lack of finishing from both sides left the tie at 0-0 after 45 minutes. The second half started at a drab pace, but the deadlock was suddenly broken when Lisandro Martínez scored into his own net.
With United looking incredibly poor, Matheus Cunha, who had been moved to the left after playing most of the tie up front, saw a long-range effort deflected to level the score in the 89th minute.
Despite a late push from the Reds, they couldn't find a winning goal, leaving the tie as a 1-1 draw.

Made some major saves in the first half, keeping United in the game, Fulham's goal can't be blamed on him. Could have been a much worse result without his saves.

Better so far compared to previous weeks, but still uninspiring.

Not too much to do, did well to not give away a penalty right at the end of the half.
Lisandro Martínez – 6/10
Plenty of attacking intent, looked great on the ball, incredibly unlucky for the own goal.

Back in the XI and keeping high up, could have done with crossing more.

Good on the ball but been spun a few times while defending.

Looked very strong against a big midfield, playing quite high. Odd that he came off.

Got plenty of the ball and came more alive in the second half, but looked isolated overall.
Bruno Fernandes – 5/10
Playing almost as a striker next to Cunha and created well, but wasn't too influential and poor by his standards.
Marcus Rashford – 3/10
Had a few good chances at goal, but finishing was poor. Skied a great chance right at the end of the first half.
Matheus Cunha – 5/10
Anonymous upfront once again, looked better when on the left and scored a big goal.
