Lewis Hall has arisen as Manchester United's main left-back target this summer, after becoming one of Newcastle United's most vital and consistent players in the last two seasons.

Therefore, with the Magpies seemingly in complete disarray, parting ways with Eddie Howe, along with most of his backroom staff, and selling their best players, such as Bruno Guimarães, Sandro Tonali and Anthony Gordon, it is clear that Hall is also ready to take the next step in his career, rather than endure another rebuild around him.

United and Hall are a match made in heaven. United are in dire need of a left-back, with Luke Shaw being the only player experienced at playing the position at the top level, and United are in a great place right now and will be looking to achieve big things this season, similar to Hall's ambitions.

Furthermore, there are not many left-back options that are experienced, available, and reasonably priced in this window, making Hall and his situation something of a rarity.

And the final selling point is that Michael Carrick is reportedly very keen on the acquisition of Lewis Hall, signifying how important he could prove to be for Manchester United this season.

According to The Athletic, due to many factors, including Lewis Hall's desire to join The Red Devils in the summer, Newcastle have already been scouting his replacement.

The Magpies have been linked with Bosnia and Herzegovina international Amar Dedic from Benfica for a sum of around £30 million, half of their set price of £60 million for Lewis Hall.

Dedic is primarily a right-back who is capable of playing on both sides of the pitch, and with Tino Livramento's return in the near future, they could have a good rotation of sides between the pair.

This is a huge boost for Manchester United, as for the whole window, Newcastle have been firm on their stance that Hall is not for sale; therefore, looking for a replacement could finally mean that they are ready to inevitably cash in on him.

Another point raised is that if a deal for Hall does not occur, then the player could potentially follow in Alexander Isak's footsteps and force his way to Old Trafford, leaving the Magpies with no choice but to sell.

Therefore, a deal that seemed completely dead days ago could now be more alive than ever, and United may finally get their man.

If Manchester United do get their hands on Lewis Hall, then the next big question would be: is that it for the summer?

Of course, they could buy more players to benefit Michael Carrick's squad; however, signing Andrey Santos, Youri Tielemans, Karl Darlow, and Lewis Hall is a successful window by any standards. 

However, United were very threadbare in the midfield last season; therefore, losing Manuel Ugarte to injury and Casemiro leaving, only adding two more midfielders may not be enough.

This gives the United scouts another bigger issue. Right now, before the signing of a left-back, the budget for a midfield target would be quite generous; however, if Hall is signed, finding another cheap player like Tielemans and Santos would prove to be very tricky.

Another issue would be Marcus Rashford. It is Carrick's duty to feed the media only positivity from his camp, but he and Rashford may not be happy with the current arrangement. If so, the club will need to find him a move away soon and get a replacement quickly.

It is almost unanimously agreed that United cannot stop now; at least one more signing has to be made before the window shuts, and it will be very interesting to see what they get done in the final days of the summer.
