With just over a week of the transfer window remaining, Manchester United are in a hurry to complete multiple deals. Michael Carrick's side began their Premier League campaign on Saturday and were stunned by newly promoted Hull City.
United have been heavily linked with left backs all summer, with Newcastle's Lewis Hall topping their list of targets. A deal for the 21-year-old looks unlikely now, due to the high price being reported, but it is understood that he would be the club's preferred option.
As well as a new left back, an additional attacking option has been rumoured. However, Marcus Rashford's return has lowered the chances of this. But the rumours have not stopped, and now, another name has emerged as a potential target for United at this late stage in the window.
Crystal Palace's Ismaila Sarr is likely to leave the London club this summer, with Galatasaray pushing for his signature. The Senegalese international was not part of Pierre Sage's first Premier League matchday squad, suggesting a move is just around the corner.
United join the race for Sarr
A fee in the region of around £50 million is likely to be enough for Palace to accept, and it is understood that a deal with Galatasaray is close. According to TEAMTalk, the Turkish club has agreed personal terms with the player.
Sarr missed the opening game of the season, prompting speculation about why. Although the rumours have been rampant, the club have insisted that the player is injured and so has missed training in recent days and could not make the squad for the match against Everton.
TEAMTalk have also suggested that the 28-year-old is of interest to Manchester United. His situation is being monitored by United, but given the asking price set by Palace, a deal looks difficult.
Sarr enjoyed a brilliant campaign last season, scoring nine times in the Premier League. As the Turkish Super League looks to make a huge statement this summer, Sarr is one of the players they are pushing to sign. United are understood to have long admired the player, but a deal this summer is unlikely for now.
How many more signings will United make?
A left-back signing is now United's priority after completing their £150 million midfield rebuild. Carlos Baleba completed his medical yesterday, meaning an official announcement is imminent.
Although it may not be Lewis Hall, a left-back is likely to arrive. Barcelona's Alejandro Balde has been linked this weekend as he looks set to leave the Catalan club. United could also look to strengthen elsewhere, up front or in defence again.
With Sarr being linked, this could indicate United are still in the market for an extra attacker. But with Marcus Rashford set to stay beyond the transfer window deadline, it is hard to see a major move materialising.
After a disaster opening-day defeat, Carrick will certainly want more reinforcements. The team looked lethargic and lacked the expected quality. If the club are serious about kicking on from last season, a minimum of two more signings should be made before the deadline.
