0%Leny Yoro was one of the few positives for Manchester United against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday evening.
The young Frenchman started at right-back ahead of Diogo Dalot, having made his international debut during the extended break against Belgium. He played in central defence that day, but looked more than good enough at right-back against Spurs.
Yoro played on the right side of defence in pre-season, with Harry Maguire and Ayden Heaven playing in central defence, but pressure appears to be on this season.
At the end of the campaign, Yoro will have completed three years at Manchester United, and many feel he needs to be a starter by this time next season.
Yoro moved to Manchester United for just under £60 million under Erik ten Hag, but never played a competitive match under the Dutchman due to a pre-season injury.
Yoro attracts European interest
With Yoro set to start against Atletico Madrid, news has emerged that he has interest from Paris Saint-Germain after impressing for France.
TalkSport have reported that PSG are monitoring the 20-year-old, having sent scouts to watch his France debut against Belgium.
They also claim that Manchester United see Yoro as a "key" part of their long-term future, but PSG believe that a "big offer" could test United's resolve.
United fought off interest from Real Madrid when they signed Yoro in 2024, but could lose him if PSG step up their pursuit.
Man Utd should trust Yoro
Leny Yoro has yet to become a regular starter at Old Trafford, despite defensive concerns under Rúben Amorim and Michael Carrick.
Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martínez seem to be Michael Carrick's first-choice pairing, though he is yet to have Matthijs de Ligt at his disposal due to his back injury in November 2025.
De Ligt has travelled with the matchday squads against Fulham and Tottenham Hotspur, and could feature against Atletico Madrid.
As for Yoro, he deserves to be handed a run of games in his natural position, but it is hard to see when that will happen with so many tough matches in October.
Before the start of November, Manchester United face Atletico Madrid, Leeds United, Como, Bournemouth, and Chelsea.
Carrick has shown he is unwilling to make big personnel changes, but it could be what he has to do if United want to keep Leny Yoro. Interest from PSG could sway Yoro, especially if he isn't a regular starter at Old Trafford.
