One of Manchester United's finest youth talents has committed his future to Old Trafford and Patrick Dorgu was among those to react to the news this week.

What happens when Dorgu returns from injury?

Manchester United have an illustrious history when it comes to producing youth talent for the first-team squad, and it is something that will continue going forward.

At the moment, Kobbie Mainoo is the main academy player involved in Michael Carrick's first-team squad but there are a few others who could push through.

Shea Lacey made a positive impact in a few appearances this season but suffered an injury recently. He is back in training and could push for further action before the season ends.

Meanwhile there is the extremely talented JJ Gabriel, who is set to join the first-team on their pre-season tour in the summer despite being just 15 years of age.

At the other end of the pitch, Jaydan Kamason has impressed over the last couple of years in the youth system and is regularly spotted training with the first-team.

Kamason, 19, committed his long-term future to the club this week after signing a new deal at Old Trafford.

Dorgu reacts to Kamason new contract

With 15 appearances for the Under-21s this term, Kamason has been an important part of a strong United youth side.

After his new contract was announced earlier this week, the defender reacted to the news on Instagram on Saturday afternoon.

"Proud moment for me and family to sign a new long term contract at this special club. We thank God and keep pushing. More to come, just a matter of timing," he wrote.

Many of Kamason's youth teammates, including Chido Obi and Jack Fletcher, were quick to reply to the 19-year-old, while first-team defender Patrick Dorgu also liked the post.

Dorgu has been injured recently but was spotted back on the grass at Carrington earlier this week and fans will be hoping that he's available again soon.

Meanwhile, Kamason will be hoping that he can continue impressing behind the scenes and he might be eyeing a spot on the pre-season tour this summer.

United can use youth talent next season

United are going to sign big names in the summer transfer window, with at least two midfielders coming in, alongside other signings.

But the club should also be looking at the academy to fill spots within the squad. Rather than signing a back-up player for £40 million, you can promote from within and use that money elsewhere.

That doesn't necessarily have to be Kamason but there are several impressive talents who could make the step up and contribute in some games.

With the Reds likely playing in Europe once again next season, they will need to rotate and have a large squad but it doesn't just have to be new signings who add to the options.
