Shea Lacey rejoins Manchester United training after injury setbacks. Plus, updates on Lisandro Martínez, Joshua Zirkzee, Patrick Dorgu, and Matthijs de Ligt's comeback timelines.
Shea Lacey's start to his senior life at Manchester United has been a slightly rocky one, given his incredible talent and potential.
The young English star has been ripping it up for United's U18s and U21s this campaign, although a couple of injuries have, at points, halted his progress.
He was handed his debut for the senior side by Rúben Amorim late last year and provided some excellent cameos against Aston Villa nd in the FA Cup against Brighton, although he was sent off during the latter fixture.
Having served a one-game ban, Lacey then picked up an injury that has left him slightly out of the picture so far under Michael Carrick, although the club's lack of games this season has also weakened his chances of minutes.
Sources: Lacey returns to full training
While many of United's leading players, such as Bruno Fernandes, Harry Maguire, and Matheus Cunha, have all headed to represent their countries during the international break, a fair few have stayed behind.
Lacey was with the England U20s late last year and even trained with Thomas Tuchel's first-team squad in that period, he has not been present at St. George's Park as he continues his rehabilitation.
Roundtable understands that, following his omission from the England set-up, Lacey has now returned to full training with the remaining United squad during this week.
It's expected that the 18-year-old will be part of the club's squad that travels to Ireland later this week for a training camp between 6 and 9 April ahead of the Premier League's return.
What about United's other injuries?
As for the others, Roundtable have also been informed that both Lisandro Martínez and Joshua Zirkzee, who had been carrying problems, are back to training on grass, suggesting they are close to a return.
Meanwhile, young winger Patrick Chinazaekpere Dorgu is continuing his positive work in the gym after the club released official footage of rehabilitation from a hamstring injury suffered back in March.
But, it has also been noted that, while he is closing in on his return, it will not be in time for the fixture against Leeds later this month.
Matthijs de Ligt's timeline for a return to the squad remains a mystery, although reports suggest the player himself is hopeful he will be able to play again this season after a long-term back problem.
Harry Maguire will be suspended from the match against Leeds after being sent off against Bournemouth last time out.
