Despite Andre Onana and Altay Bayindir leaving Manchester United on loan in the summer, Michael Carrick has a wealth of goalkeepers at his disposal.

Senne Lammens is the clear first-choice option, with Karl Darlow the backup after joining from Leeds United on a free transfer in the summer. Tom Heaton and Dermot Mee are third and fourth choice, respectively, having both played in pre-season.

As it stands, both Bayindir and Onana will return to Old Trafford next summer, having only moved on loan during the transfer window.

However, Trabzonspor are reportedly looking to sign Onana permanently, with the details of their pursuit now revealed.

Trabzonspor want Onana

According to Turkiye, Trabzonspor's pursuit of Onana is being led by club president Ertugrul Dogan.

Manchester United have reportedly set a price tag of £8.5 million, with a contract in place until the summer of 2028, despite Onana's poor form at Old Trafford.

That fee is said to be too much for the Turkish side, who would also find it difficult to pay Onana's wages if he doesn't lower his demands.

However, Trabzonspor reportedly believe Onana will not be an issue in the deal, as he is "ready" to sign a five-year contract at the club.

Trabzonspor's management are set to meet Onana's agent and Manchester United "as soon as possible".

Man Utd need to sell Onana

With Onana turning 31 before the end of the season, and Lammens the clear favourite in between the sticks, Manchester United need to do everything they can to sell Andre Onana sooner rather than later.

The longer they leave it, the less money they will recoup for his transfer, and the harder it will be to find another suitor.

Even if Lammens' form drops off a cliff, Manchester United fans will not want Onana back in goal. The likes of Dermot Mee and Tom Heaton will have the faith of the fans before Onana.

Bayindir could also be thrown into that category. He is yet to play for Celta Vigo, but did play all 90 minutes for Turkey in a 4-1 defeat to Italy in the Nations League.

Manchester United will know they need to sell Bayindir and Onana as soon as they can, even if they have to take a loss on both players.

William Murdock and Cameron Byrne-Hughes from the youth sides are two talented prospects coming through, while United will also retain clauses for Radek Vitek, who joined Middlesbrough in the summer.
