Old Trafford's latest arrival boasts pinpoint crossing and a relentless work ethic, traits experts believe will unlock the full goalscoring potential of star striker Benjamin Šeško.
Manchester United's summer transfer window has seen them commit a total of £155 million to four new first-team signings ahead of Michael Carrick's first full season in charge of the squad.
The signings of Andrey Santos from Chelsea for £50 million, Karl Darlow on a free transfer from Leeds United, and Youri Tielemans from Aston Villa for a further £35 million all happened in quick succession.
Then, after a perceived lack of activity, United then announced the signing of midfielder Carlos Baleba from Brighton for a fee of £65 million, rising to £70 million with add-ons.
However, another transfer that went somewhat under the radar was the signing of 18-year-old winger Tynan Thompson from Tottenham Hotspur, who joined the club for an initial £4 million with a further £4 million in add-ons.
United feel Thompson will be a dream for Šeško
Thompson has been with United for around a month, making an appearance in pre-season against Leeds United and then featuring for the club's U21s earlier this week, producing a lovely trivella assist during a 5-0 riot over Ipswich Town.
However, the club have much higher ambitions for the London-born star. According to journalist David McDonnell, those within United are incredibly excited about the prospect of the winger making it to the first team due to his accurate deliveries.
According to one insider at Old Trafford, those at the club feel Thompson could become a "dream" partner for first-team striker Benjamin Šeško due to the way he's able to deliver "on the money every time" with his crosses.
It's also said that Thompson has a strong willingness to track back, defend, and "do the dirty work" that isn't always associated with modern wingers.
Thompson has ample time to develop
While Thompson is expected to be somewhat involved with the first team as the season progresses, he is expected to start with the U21s as he adjusts to his move from London to the North West of England.
The 18-year-old is expected to flirt between training with the Academy squad and the first team, although the expectation is that over the course of the season, he will be able to impress enough to continue under Carrick.
He has reportedly been urged to learn as much as he can from the likes of Matheus Cunha and Marcus Rashford, both of whom share similar traits to Thompson, being right-footed left-wingers who like to cut inside and combine with their teammates.
While he has had a significant rise in social media followers since signing for United, the player is said to be relatively unfazed by the attention, and will be focusing on his football and breaking through into the first team regularly.
