Upon arriving in 2022, Casemiro’s words were: “Tell them I’ll fix this.” “Fix” is ambiguous, but he has certainly been instrumental in steering United on the right path. Casemiro is one of football’s greats. His trophy cabinet tells you that. When he joined United, he surrendered himself to embracing every aspect of life in England. Having a supportive environment bolstered that, something that many others did not have.
Following his final home game against Nottingham Forest last Sunday, he was serenaded by every corner of Old Trafford and given an ovation to savour. For him, it certainly was the Theatre of Dreams.
Anderson is the perfect replacement
If Sunday was an audition, Elliott Anderson passed it with flying colours. The England international has again been a shining light in a season full of domestic darkness for Forest.
He saw firsthand what a special place Old Trafford can be; he could be the next one to be adored. And when a player is loved, there is no better place to flourish.
The United hierarchy believe the club is closest to winning the league as they have been in a long time; fans appear to be of a similar opinion. Imagine being an integral part of taking United back to the top.
