Alan Pardew has urged a Premier League club to sign Marcus Rashford.
Marcus Rashford will likely leave Manchester United on a permanent basis this summer.
The Englishman enjoyed a very successful season on loan at Barcelona, winning La Liga and registering 25 goals and asissts in all competitions.
The Spanish giants have the option to buy Rashford for £26 million, but are not keen on paying that much to keep the winger after having spent nearly £70 million on Anthony Gordon.
However, Hansi Flick reportedly does want to keep Rashford and an agreement on personal terms is said to be in place, according to various reports.
United are adamant that they will not renegotiate a deal with Barcelona, and believe they can sell Rashford for a higher fee elsewhere, should the La Liga champions decide not to trigger the buy option.
Pardew urges Newcastle to sign Rashford
Alan Pardew believes Newcastle should make a move to sign Rashford as a replacement for Gordon.
“Anthony Gordon has left Newcastle… I’m just thinking of Rashford. I think the Geordies would take to Rashford," Pardew said speaking to talkSPORT.
“He's right up their street because he takes people on, he gets shots off. And I think that stage would be brilliant for him. But you know, we'll see.
“Rashford is a difficult one because the Barcelona deal isn't going to happen.
“His wages are excessive, I'm told. So that is going to eliminate a lot of clubs. When you look at the top clubs, I don't really see a home for him.
“I personally think he's an outstanding footballer. He does a lot of things really, really, really well. His defensive work sometimes is poor, but he has improved a little bit on that. I think it'd be a great take (for a club). It's just whether you can do the numbers. It's a numbers game (with) Marcus Rashford.”
Where does Rashford's future lie?
Rashford's current preference is seemingly to stay at Barcelona, but according to reports, Barcelona are only open to another loan or a permanent deal worth £13 million. That is only half of the buy option which the two clubs included in Rashford's loan move last summer.
According to the Daily Mail, Arsenal and Tottenham hold an interest in Rashford, while Aston Villa, the club who signed him on loan for six months in 2025, retain an interest in the winger.
Bayern Munich were interested in Gordon before he moved to Barcelona, and it has been suggested that they may now turn their attention to Rashford.
Various reports claim that there is very little chance of Rashford being reintegrated into the United squad, despite Ruben Amorim’s departure.
