Marcus Rashford has performed marvelously at his season-long loan at Barcelona. The 28-year-old has recorded ten goals and 13 assists since he arrived in the Catalunya region.

His departure from Manchester United occurred when relationships with the then-manager Rúben Amorim turned sour. Amorim exiled the Englishman from the squad early during his tenure, likely causing the end of his career as a Red.

Rashford has since had a brief loan spell at Aston Villa,  in which he produced ten goals and assists in 17 games.

Since the attacker's return to form, many clubs have enquired about his transfer situation, with two top European clubs emerging as favourites if Rashford's move to Barcelona falls through.

AC Milan and PSG monitor Rashford situation

Despite an initial agreement between United and Barcelona that allows the Catalan giants to sign the winger for £26 million this summer, Barcelona have expressed a desire to renegotiate a new fee.

This, of course, would mean clubs are entitled to pursue the services of Rashford and enter a bidding war for his signature. Among other suitors, SempreMilan has reported that PSG and AC Milan have emerged as favourites to secure the acquisition of the United academy prospect.

AC Milan seems like the ideal move for Rashford on the surface, with interest in current attacking star Rafael Leão, I Rossoneri would likely look for a replacement for his twelve goals and assists output so far this season. Rashford's archetype makes him the perfect replacement, as his character is vastly similar to Leão's.

PSG could prove a good destination, however, as the French giants cemented their status as Europe's best side after winning the Champions League last season.

That said, Kvichi Kvaratskhelia seems to have locked that down the left-side of attack, playing 44 games in that position. This means Rashford would have to overthrow or change position upon a potential move.

SempreMilan has also reported that Barcelona is prepared to 'backtrack' on the agreed-upon initial fee, meaning that Rashford's future hangs in the balance.

Rashford fighting for place at Barca

It's not been completely smooth sailing for Rashford; the Englishman has failed at times to overthrow the luxurious Raphinha, who has become a mainstay in Hansi Flick's Barca side.

Rashford has only started 14 games for the Spanish side, yet he has still managed to record an exemplary output.

La Liga's financial fair play rules have prevented Barcelona from signing key players in the past, and the same story may occur again, as Barcelona pushes the constraints of the rules.

This may prevent Rashford from securing his move to Catalunya, but if the Spanish side decides to move some assets around, as they have before, then the deal could be back on.

However, Rashford must state his value on the pitch. His chances, though limited, have been given, and the same form is required to become a permanent Barcelona player.
