Manchester United were heavily linked with a move for Harry Kane back in 2023. The striker entered the final year of his contract at Spurs and was looking for a move away after ten years at the club.

However, Spurs demanded a fee of £100 million which was way out of United's budget, leading to them completing the signing of Rasmus Hojlund instead, which was overall a very unsuccessful move.

Three years on he is still hot property in the world of football, and has a very good chance of winning the Ballon d'Or this season.

Kane finished his third season with Bayern Munich scoring an incredible 64 goals in all competitions and winning the league once again. After three solid seasons in Germany, England's main man could be up for a move back home.

He is currently enjoying arguably his best tournament for England, equalling his golden boot-worthy goal tally of six from the 2018 World Cup, with potentially two games left to beat said tally, win the World Cup, and the Golden Boot.

If he does decide to move back to England, the board at United would be seemingly ready to battle for his signature.

According to TEAMtalk, Sir Jim Ratcliffe is a huge admirer of Harry Kane, and if the offer presented itself on the table, the club would be ready to go after him.

United are not the only club aware of and monitoring the situation; they are joined by Chelsea and Manchester City. However, as it stands, there is not much traction as Bayern are, for now, convinced that the player will stay put this season.

TEAMtalk also have stated that Bayern plan to offer the striker a new contract before the season kicks off.

Although they would like the issue resolved soon, they would be prepared to resolve it later down the line, with January being a hard deadline for them.

United are not definitely in the market for a striker, especially since Matheus Cunha established himself as Brazil's No. 9. However, since they have been such long admirers of the player, they will more than likely attempt to strike up a deal.

There are an array of positives around the signing of Harry Kane. 

The most obvious is his current form, beating Cristiano Ronaldo's best goal-scoring season for club and country of 69 goals. Despite being 32 years old, he is showing no signs of slowing down.

Next is the price: he is reportedly expected to cost between £50-£60 million, which, in today's market, is a great price for almost any striker, never mind one who could soon receive a Ballon d'Or.

Another huge positive is his affect on Benjamin Sesko. Many fans believe that Sesko is not quite ready to be United's main and only true number nine, therefore adding Kane relieves a lot of pressure on the young man's shoulders, and he can also provide him with some invaluable experience.

However, a negative to the deal is that it would all but end Joshua Zirkzee's Man United career. The player struggles for minutes as it is, being a mix of a nine and a ten it has been a real struggle for him to find his place.

With Bruno Fernandes playing every game, the number ten spot is almost never available, therefore adding a striker than will demand minutes would make it near impossible to fit Zirkzee in.

With a new striker not being much of a priority for Man United this summer, it is unlikely a decision will be made, however Kane will be a potential transfer to keep an eye on.
