Manchester United have set their sights on England international and Aston Villa star amid an extensive transfer saga with other Premier League clubs.
What's your priority position for next summer?
Manchester United face a complete squad overhaul this summer, with many United stars rumoured to move away from the club in the next transfer window.
As well as departures, United set its sights on acquisitions, with many of the world's best talents linked with the club.
Premier League stars such as Elliot Anderson and Sandro Tonali are rumoured to be of interest, as the Reds must certainly identify the defensive midfielder position as a priority.
But according to a recent report, United are in the market to bolster their already improved attack, despite last season's signings of Bryan Mbeumo and Matheus Cunha.
United target Rogers
Morgan Rogers has been nothing short of exceptional since joining Aston Villa from Middlesbrough for just £15 million, and he is now all but confirmed to head to his first World Cup with the England squad this summer.
According to The Times, Rogers' impressive performances have caught the interest of some of the Premier League's top clubs, as Chelsea and Arsenal are ready to enter a transfer 'tug-of-war' with United to secure his signature.
The previously mentioned London clubs expressed their interest in Rogers last summer, as both Arsenal and Chelsea were in the market for an attacking outlet.
Aston Villa managed to retain Rogers for the 2025/26 Premier League season, but failed to include a release clause. The Birmingham club now values Rogers in the region of £80 million, which may deter clubs from chasing him.
However, Aston Villa reportedly faces financial pressures due to a significant loss of revenue, amounting to a loss of approximately £200 million over two seasons.
This may mean Villa are forced to sell their star player at a reduced rate, favouring United, who are reportedly ready to splash the cash this summer.
How would Rogers fit into this United squad?
As previously mentioned, the Reds invested heavily in their attack last summer, spending just under £200 million on three star attacking threats.
Mbeumo, who arrived with vast promise, has become a utility option for all three managers he's played under this season, operating across the front three, but as a number nine for the majority.
Benjamin Šeško is a player who struggled to begin with, but has since been outstanding for the Reds, scoring eight in his last twelve.
Cunha has also passed the test, progressing the ball with ease, and rescuing United against Arsenal as the Reds made a crucial push for Champions League qualification.
With Amd Diallo, Shea Lacey, and even Patrick Dorgu threatening for a place in the attacking setup, Rogers would likely face sufficient competition for a place in the starting lineup, but if this season with Aston Villa is anything to go by, he would likely walk into the first team.
