Reports have emerged suggesting that Nottingham Forest boss Vitor Pereira could be set to leave this club soon.
Pereira was only appointed at the start of February, but worked quickly to guide Forest clear of the Premier League relegation zone.
While the domestic battle remained against the drop, Pereira also oversaw an excellent European adventure as Forest reached the Europa League semi-final.
The journey ended in heartbreak as eventual winners Aston Villa secured their place in the final during the second leg at Villa Park, but it was a campaign to be proud of and remember fondly.
Towards the end of the season, the indication was that Pereira would pen a new contract with Forest, with his current deal only running until next summer.
But a matter of weeks ago, those plans were shelved after it was revealed that both parties would wait until the start of the season before committing longer term.
That decision came days after Al Hilal expressed interest in appointing Pereira as their next manager, which would have been his second stint in Saudi Arabia, having previously managed Al-Ahli and Al Shabab.
Though it was reported that, despite a delay in contract talks, Pereira remained committed to the Nottingham Forest project.
It had looked as though the Portuguese Head Coach would see out the summer and at least the start of the new season before conversations over his future resumed, but that has taken a dramatic twist.
Fabrizio Romano has today reported that there has been “movement behind the scenes”, which could mean that Pereira leaves the club imminently.
At this point, it is not known which side has instigated movement - whether Pereira has been tempted by another offer or if Evangelos Marinakis wants to go in a different direction.
