It promises to be a busy summer on Trentside, and the club will begin their pre-season preparations in the coming weeks.

Those plans have taken a sudden and dramatic twist after the club announced on Thursday that Vitor Pereira has left his position as head coach.

The expectation is for former Crystal Palace boss Oliver Glasner to take the hot seat at the City Ground, becoming the fifth head coach in the dugout since the start of last season.

As Forest prepare for their new era, details of two more pre-season friendlies, both at the City Ground, have been shared.

The club revealed that both Bayer Leverkusen and Stade Brestois will travel to Nottingham to take on the Reds in August, when the team will be concluding their preparations for the new season.

Leverkusen famously won an unprecedented double in the 2023/24 season as they clinched the Bundesliga and DFB Pokal titles, under the leadership of new Chelsea boss Xabi Alonso.

Last season, then managed by Kasper Hjulmand, Leverkusen finished sixth, missing out on Champions League qualification by just three points.

They will visit the City Ground on Wednesday 12 August, now managed by Calres Martinez, with kick-off scheduled for 19:45 BST.

Stade Brestois have had a far less star-studded history, but enjoyed their first-ever Champions League campaign just two seasons ago, but have since fallen from that perch.

Last term, they finished 12th, just seven points clear of the relegation zone, having failed to win any of their last nine Ligue 1 outings.

Stade Brestois will take on Forest on Trentside just four days after the visit of Leverkusen, on Sunday, 16 August at 14:00 BST.

The fixtures will both take place well after Forest’s warm-weather training camp in Portugal, where three other fixtures have already been announced by the club.
