Morgan Gibbs-White may be a man in demand, but Oliver Glasner has made it clear that he will not be leaving Nottingham Forest under any circumstances this summer.
Oliver Glasner has spoken publicly about Nottingham Forest's decision to not sell Morgan Gibbs-White this summer.
Forest beat Stade Brestois 2-0 at the City Ground on Sunday in the Reds' final pre-season outing.
It proved to be a second-string Forest squad, after most of the club's big-hitters featured in a behind-closed-doors friendly against Coventry City on Saturday.
Among those absent from the squad that beat Stade Brestois was Gibbs-White, with the 26-year-old rested ahead of the Premier League opener against Leeds United on Saturday.
Last summer, Gibbs-White was on the verge of a transfer to Tottenham Hotspur, but a legal dispute saw the move collapse at the 11th hour.
Now, interest in the playmaker has calmed, despite some distant rumours earlier this summer, and Gibbs-White looks set for at least another season on Trentside.
Speaking after the game on Sunday, Glasner confirmed that Gibbs-White has not asked to leave the club, but reiterated that he would not be granted an exit this summer either way.
He insisted that the club were never willing to sanction the sale of both Elliot Anderson and Gibbs-White in the same window.
"It was clear after selling Elliot Anderson that none of our other starters will leave the club," Glasner revealed.
"That was a clear commitment from the ownership, and no player came and asked to leave the club.
"Everybody's excited and everybody can see and feel now that we've started a journey that could be nice, but it's still the beginning, and there's a lot to do.
"[Morgan Gibbs-White leaving] was never a topic, neither from the club or him. We didn't have to talk about it, it was a non-verbal agreement. We looked each other in the eye and we knew what to do, because we want to be successful.
"[To be successful] we can't sell every single starter, that would be crazy. If we want to strengthen the squad, it would just make no sense."
