Nottingham Forest have agreed a fee for the sale of Elliot Anderson, who is due to undergo a Manchester City medical imminently.
Elliot Anderson has been Manchester City’s dream transfer target for some time, and the Premier League runners-up are now poised to finally complete the deal.
Numerous reports have now confirmed that Forest have struck a deal with City to sell Anderson for a British record £130 million.
The deal is so advanced that the 23-year-old is expected to undergo a medical on Friday morning in New York.
Despite Anderson being on international duty with England at the World Cup, Three Lions boss Thomas Tuchel has been clear that he will not block players from discussing or completing transfers while the squad are stateside.
Anderson has been a revelation at the City Ground since his arrival in 2024, but until recently, only Forest fans have truly appreciated his ability.
His nickname, ‘the Geordie Maradonna’, is not just affectionate, it is a reflection of his ability, albeit sensationalised, but the feeling towards him from fans.

Potential replacements
Forest have already begun the near-impossible process of replacing Anderson, and so far Tottenham Hotspur’s Lucas Bergvall looks like the club’s priority target, although no discussions have taken place yet.
Other midfielders have been discussed, and it remains likely that more than one could arrive at the City Ground this summer, as part of a wider strengthening of the Forest squad.
