Sunderland have lost highly-rated academy talent Liam Ogunsuyi, younger brother of Black Cats prospect Trey Ogunsuyi, to Premier League rivals Manchester City.
Ogunsuyi became Sunderland's youngest-ever under-18s player when he made his debut at just 13-years-old, and therefore it was clear to see why he was named the Academy of Light's Player of the Season for 2024/25.
It is an unfortunate loss for Sunderland given his glowing reputation in youth football, but the Black Cats will be financially compensated for the transfer given their efforts in his development.
Will this prove to be one Sunderland live to regret? Only the coming seasons will tell.
