Championship giants Wrexham have agreed an £8m deal with Sunderland for goalkeeper Anthony, according to Sky Sports News reporter Keith Downie.

Patterson, who started in the Championship play-off final comeback win against Sheffield United last year, is on his way to Wrexham for a medical.

The Academy of Light graduate lost his place in the starting XI last season following the signing of Robin Roefs, and was loaned out to Millwall for the second half of the campaign.

Now, the shot-stopper is set for a permanent exit from his boyhood club, with the £8m move to promotion-hopefuls Wrexham.
