Chelsea sit fourth after seven matches, with Spurs 16th and looking to build momentum. Recent history also favours the hosts, who have won the last six meetings. For Tottenham, the challenge is to turn renewed confidence into a performance that can trouble their rivals on the road.

Chelsea welcome back Malo Gusto for Saturday’s meeting, but Xabi Alonso remains without several players. The defender has recovered from the illness that ruled him out against Everton, providing another option at right-back.

Goalkeeper Emiliano Martinez is unavailable after undergoing surgery on the fractured jaw suffered during the victory at Everton. Alonso said the Argentine is improving but will be out for several weeks, with specialists guiding his recovery.

Mike Penders will replace Martinez, with Alonso expressing confidence in the Belgian’s readiness after encouraging training performances, cup appearances, and his substitute outing last weekend.

Pep Chavarria has increased his training involvement but will not recover in time. Emmanuel Emegha is also improving, but his return remains on hold after a hamstring injury and a rehabilitation setback.

Tottenham welcome Pedro Porro back into contention for Saturday’s trip to Chelsea after the defender recovered from a hamstring injury. His availability gives Roberto De Zerbi another right-back option after a month on the sidelines.

Destiny Udogie remains unavailable, having missed Monday’s victory over Coventry with a knee problem. Lucas Bergvall is also out with a knee injury, while Savio continues to recover from a muscle issue.

James Maddison and Dejan Kulusevski require assessment following their involvement against Coventry, with De Zerbi remaining cautious as both rebuild fitness after lengthy absences.

Andy Robertson and Omar Marmoush are expected to be available despite coming off on Monday, while Tosin Adarabioyo’s fitness remains a consideration.

Wilson Odobert and Xavi Simons remain sidelined with longer-term injuries. Mykhailo Mudryk is recovering from an ankle problem and cannot face his parent club. Rodrigo Bentancur serves the second match of his three-game suspension at Stamford Bridge.

Chelsea have made the stronger start to the Premier League season, collecting 13 points from seven matches to sit fourth. Xabi Alonso’s side have recovered from inconsistent results with consecutive victories over Bournemouth and Everton, scoring seven goals across those games.

Tottenham, meanwhile, are 16th with six points after finally beating Coventry on Monday. Roberto De Zerbi’s side went six games without a win before that 3–1 win lifted them out of the relegation zone. Spurs now need to build on that result, while Chelsea are targeting a third successive league win on Saturday.

My Prediction,

Chelsea 1-1 Tottenham
