Pape Matar Sarr’s future at Tottenham Hotspur continues to be a talking point this summer, as the Senegalese midfielder is linked with a move to Everton, with Nottingham Forest also believed to have interest.
Spurs have already heavily invested in the midfield with the record signings of Mateus Fernandes and Sandro Tonali. Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall are also believed to be well liked by Roberto De Zerbi, with Rodrigo Bentencur’s future up in the air also. While the club doesn’t want to sell either Bergvall or Bentancur, they both have a valuation, and should that be met, an exit is likely.
Sarr. 23-year-old has already drawn interest from other clubs this summer, namely Saudi Pro League clubs; however, now Premier League teams are looking into a potential move with a deal likely to be secured between £25m and £30m
Everton has been rebuilding their midfield this summer after Idrissa Gana Gueye left. Christian Norgaard and Hayden Hackney have both joined, but Everton are still looking for another player with Sarr’s Premier League experience and potential to grow, seen as an attractive option.
Nottingham Forest are also reportedly interested in Lucas Bergvall and now Pape Matar Sarr. Some reports see him as a possible addition to their midfield following the departure of Elliott Anderson to Manchester City earlier this summer. Alongside Forst and Villa, Brentford and Galatasaray have also been linked with a possible move for the Senegalese international.
Tottenham are rumored to be open to an exit this summer if they were to receive a suitable fee. Last week, the Daily Mail reported that Saudi Pro League club Al-Ahli could also be an option for Sarr, if he were to leave North London this summer.
Tottenham are under no contractual pressure to sell. Sarr signed a long-term deal running until 2030 and originally cost Spurs around £14.6 million when he joined from Metz in 2021.
With the additions of Sandro Tonali and Mateus Fernandes joining the team, Roberto De Zerbi now has more options in midfield. Sarr started just 13 Premier League games in the 2025/26 season and missed part of the season while playing in the Africa Cup of Nations
Sarr remains involved with Tottenham. He played 87 minutes in Sunday’s behind-closed-doors 2-2 draw with Hoffenheim and provided the assist for Luca Williams-Barnett
He has played over 140 games for Tottenham in all competitions. He was a key player in their 2025 Europa League win, playing the full match in the final against Manchester United.
With Everton, Forest, Brentford, Aston Villa, Galatasaray, and Al-Ahli all linked, a summer exit for Pape looks likely if the right offer comes in.
