Luca Williams-Barnett came off the bench in the 88th minute during Tottenham's win over Crystal Palace and produced a thrilling cameo, which seriously impressed James Maddison.
After Tottenham's third win on the bounce, James Maddison was one of several players who took to social media to praise Luca Williams-Barnett's Premier League debut.
Finally, after being made to wait nine matches into the Premier League season, the academy product was finally given his chance to make his first appearance.
The 18-year-old is undoubtedly one of the most exciting players to emerge from the club's academy in recent times, and his six-minute debut proved why.
He was denied an incredible assist by Mohammed Kudus, who scuffed his effort from about a yard out, after Williams-Barnett had beaten two Palace defenders to pick him out at the back post.
James Maddison and Sandro Tonali hail Luca Williams-Barnett's potential
On his official Instagram account, the Tottenham winger posted about his Premier League debut and the comment section was flooded with messages from teammates and fans.
Maddison's message proves just how highly rated the youngster is at the club, as he wrote: "Sky's the limit, son. Starts now."
Meanwhile, Sandro Tonali also commented, saying "Talento", with Savinho, Xavi Simons, Lucas Bergvall, and Mathys Tel among the players who sent him messages.
Previuously, Simons had named Williams-Barnett, along with Ju'nai Byfield as one of the best young players to keep an eye on.
During Roberto De Zerbi's press conference after the game, the Italian spoke about the youngster's immense potential.
Spurs fans have been calling for the manager to hand Williams-Barnett his debut, and he finally felt like Saturday's match was the right moment.
He said: “My career is clear: when I work, when I have young, talented players, nothing changes. I thought it was the right moment for him, because he is the first game in the Premier League, but as a quality, he’s a big, big talent.”
The Italian manager added: “ He is a very, very great talent, very young, but a great talent."
Tottenham fans will want to see Luca Williams-Barnett get more minutes
The North London club's supporters will now be hoping to see much more from their teenage prodigy over the coming weeks, with the crowd at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium cheering every touch of his.
Last season for the Under-21s, the youngster showed his incredible talent, producing 16 goals and eight assists in 20 matches.
Up until the clash against Palace, the winger had played just 12 minutes of football this season, with that one appearance being a cameo off the bench in the EFL Cup against Charlton.
Tottenham have lost Savinho and Mykhailo Mudryk to injuries over the last month or so; therefore, having the teenager step up in their absence could be huge.
