Tottenham Hotspur are in desperate need of a new striker, and the club should strongly consider returning for former Arsenal attacker Donyell Malen.

Despite flying up the table following three consecutive wins in the Premier League, scoring goals remains an issue for Tottenham Hotspur.

Neither Dominic Solanke nor Omar Marmoush are having an impact in front of goal at this moment in time.

In fact, Jan Paul van Hecke is Spurs' leading goal scorer so far this campaign, which just shows their lack of a threat in the box.

The North London club need to make a striker one of their top priorities during the winter window, and they should be looking to return for a former target of theirs.

Tottenham should return for Donyell Malen in January

Tottenham should be considering making a return to sign AS Roma striker Donyell Malen in January.

During the January transfer window of 2025, Spurs were considering a move for the Dutch striker, according to Matt Law.

He instead ended up joining Aston Villa, but failed to make too much of an impact in the Midlands.

Malen then joined Roma on loan, and in Serie A, the striker has found a new lease of life, which has made him one of Europe's most potent strikers.

In 32 appearances for the Giallorossi, the attacker has netted an impressive 26 times, with 11 of those goals coming this season.

Currently, Roma are third in Italy and just four points off the top spot, which has largely been down to Malen's goals.

The 27-year-old needs to become a target for Spurs once again, with the Lilywhites expected to be in the market for a striker in January.

Roberto De Zerbi will certainly be keen to sign a new attacker in January, having already managed to fix the defence and midfield.

Donyell Malen to Tottenham could cause Arsenal controversy

Malen making the switch to Tottenham could cause some real controversy as the striker is a former Arsenal player.

The attacker never actually made a competitive appearance for the Gunners, but he was a prolific striker for their academy.

During his two years at Arsenal, the striker managed to produce an impressive tally of 18 goals in 57 matches.

Right now, he is scoring at a similar rate of goals to Harry Kane, and he could tread a similar path across North London by joining Spurs after leaving Hale End Academy.
