Martin O'Neill has confirmed some bad news for Celtic heading into the Europa League game against Celta Vigo.
Celtic produced arguably their best performance of the season at the weekend, as they defeated Hearts by a 7-1 scoreline. The kind of one-sided victory has been rare for the Hoops in recent years.
That is especially true when it comes to an opposition like Hearts, who were a whisker away from winning the league title last season and are currently third in the league.
So, there is a ton to like about what we saw from Celtic at the weekend. That being said, it is just one performance.
Celtic's next contest promises to be an even tougher test when they face Celta Vigo in the Europa League. Of course, they have lost their first two games in the competition and badly need a win.
Unfortunately though, the game will come too early for one of their best performers in recent times.
Martin O'Neill confirms Celtic player will miss game vs Celta Vigo
Yang Hyun-jun has been one of Celtic's biggest success stories under the management of Martin O'Neill, going from a forgotten man to a key contributor for the Hoops.
Yang is also coming off some international success recently, having won the Gold medal at the Asian Games with South Korea.
Yang won't be available to feature when the Hoops take on Celta Vigo though as he continues to recover from an injury.
As reported by The Celtic Way, O'Neill said when asked about the status of Yang heading into the Europa League game: "The answer would be no, definitely not.
"He's doing well. He's back on the grass, as they say now. But no, he'll not be ready for a week or two yet."
Celtic have solution in the form of Callum Osmand
Fortunately for Celtic, it does look like they have found a solution on the left flank. And that is none other than the club's standout youngster, Callum Osmand.
Osmand was brought on at half-time against Benfica and was one of Celtic's better performers in the second half.
He was then handed a start against Hearts at the weekend and scored twice, before being taken off at half-time himself due to a hamstring issue.
Fortunately, it is not thought to be serious. As a result, Osmand is expected to be available for selection for the game against Celta Vigo.
Considering how underwhelming Sebastian Tounekti has been for Celtic, do not be surprised if Osmand gets the start again. In fact, he should.
Even though Osmand is widely recognised as a striker, he has shown that he is very capable of contributing on the wing for Celtic.
