Celtic are heading into one of the most important games in their recent history. If they can get something against LASK tonight, even a narrow defeat, they will book their place in the Champions League.
It is hard to remember the last time Celtic were able to successfully navigate the Champions League qualification process.
Well, it was in 2017/18, under the management of Brendan Rodgers. They won 8-4 over two legs against Astana. And let us not forget that even on that occasion, they had conceded four times away from home.
Celtic fans will be hoping for a much more compact defensive display against LASK tonight. And if they succeed, a lot more good things could be on the way.

According to a report from Anthony Joseph on Sky Sports, Celtic are expected to splash the cash again if they make it through to the Champions League.
Of course, Celtic are in a very good position to do so, having won their first leg 3-0 against LASK. The visitors did have more than their fair share of chances on that occasion, though and it was not as one-sided as the scoreline suggests. Going away from home, nothing can be taken for granted. The Hoops will need to earn it.
Joseph has also given some clarity on what Celtic plan to do next in the transfer market. The report goes on to state that Celtic’s priority is to replace Arne Engels and bring in a box-to-box midfielder.
If Celtic do manage to qualify for the main phase of the Champions League, they will pursue their interest in Torino midfielder Gvidas Gineitis.
What Celtic need to do in the final week of the summer transfer window
Signing someone like Gineitis would be a show of ambition for sure. It is believed that Torino would want around £10 million to part ways with him.
It is also worth mentioning that there are quite a few other positions where Celtic still need to bring in options.
One of them is left-back. They did not bring back Marcelo Saracchi for some reason. But it is believed that they have already decided on signing Landon Emenalo on loan from Chelsea this summer, as soon as he is able to put a minor injury problem behind him.
Another goalkeeper is required as well. Viljami Sinisalo has enjoyed an excellent start to the season and was brilliant in the first leg against LASK. But at the very least, Celtic need a backup option.
