Celtic do not even have a manager in place but their first transfer of the summer has already been announced.
The summer transfer window is just around the corner but Celtic will have other things to deal with first. Who will be the next manager of the club? That might be the most interesting question surrounding the Hoops right now.
Martin O'Neill was expected to step down after the season but he has not ruled himself out of the post just yet. Talks are expected with Dermot Desmond.
On the other hand, several outlets have pushed Robbie Keane as the favourite for the job, with talks already believed to have been held.
Whoever the next manager turns out to be, O'Neill, Keane or somebody else, will need to be backed in the summer transfer window.
That summer transfer business is already underway at Celtic. But the first one is an exit rather than an arrival.
Lech Poznan have announced that they have activated the buyout clause for Luis Palma. The Honduran joins them on a contract until 30 June 2029.
The buyout clause was reported to be set at around €4 million, which is a record transfer fee for Lech Poznan. So, they have put a lot of trust in Palma, who did have a very good loan spell there.
No announcement appears to have been made by Celtic yet, but one would expect that to be made official soon enough.
Palma was signed by the club in the summer of 2023 from Aris FC. He made a brilliant start to life at Celtic but his form soon faded away, and he found himself outside of the starting XI.
After 18 months at Celtic, he has spent the next 18 months away on loan. Now, he seems to have found a permanent home for himself.
There are many Celtic fans who did feel that Palma could still play a role for the Hoops. Let's not forget, the club's options on the flanks are not particularly impressive at this point in time.
One would imagine that Michel-Ange Balikwisha will leave this summer. Sebastian Tounekti has disappointed after a bright start. And Jota's injury grows worrisome by the day. Now, he is not expected to return until later in the year, having missed more than a season of football already.
So, it is not hard to see why many would have been open to the idea of Palma returning. Now, it is not going to happen.
We can only wish Palma the best of luck in his new adventure and hope he finds all the success at Lech Poznan and beyond.
