The Scottish FA have made an official announcement regarding the upcoming game between St Mirren and Celtic.

Celtic will look to maintain their perfect start to the Premiership campaign when they take on St Mirren away from home today.

It is a clash between the top two teams in the league right now. So, Celtic cannot afford to take things lightly.

This is a St Mirren team that is in top form. They will also have home advantage on their side. And Celtic are missing some key players.

The absence of Kieran Tierney will be a major miss for this Celtic team, who are already light in that area of the pitch.

The other left-back signing, Landon Emenalo, is currently recovering from an injury of his own. On the other hand, Kasper Hogh is also not going to be available.

His absence might be easier to fill. Camilo Duran has looked tremendous as a number 9. And Shim Mheuka might prove to be an able backup option in the long run. To be very honest, Hogh has not impressed anybody with his performances so far.

Scottish FA make Celtic vs St Mirren Announcement

The Scottish FA have announced the officials for the upcoming game between Celtic and St Mirren, set to be played in Paisley.

Ryan Lee is going to be the referee on the day. He is going to have Scott Anderson and Ross Nelson as his two assistants.

Don Robertson is going to be on VAR duty. Gary Hilland will be his assistant. And Jamie Wilkie is the fourth official.

As always, we would not want to see any controversial decisions determine the result of the match. The best games are those in which the officials are almost invisible. Hopefully, this proves to be another such matchup with the best team coming out on top.

Match Preview

Celtic are probably favourites in any match domestically. But that does not mean that they are immune to slip ups.

St Mirren are a team that can prove to be a test for this Celtic team, especially in their own backyard. Let's see how this game turns out.

This will also be an opportunity to have a look at a number of the new signings that Celtic made late in the summer transfer window.

Most, if not all, of them are expected to be cover options for Celtic as the club decided not to spend heavily after their failure to qualify for the Champions League once again, despite having a 4-0 aggregate lead with less than 60 minutes left in the tie.
