The Scottish FA have made an official announcement regarding Celtic's first post-split fixture against Falkirk.
With their spot in the Scottish Cup final secured following a 6-2 win over St Mirren, Celtic will now turn their focus back on the Premiership title race. One would hope that the four-goal spree in six minutes will give the team a confidence booster and open up the floodgates from here on forward.
Their first post-split fixture is against Falkirk. Of course, the competition level rises beyond this point and there are going to be no easy games.
We have seen Celtic struggling even against teams trying to avoid relegation. So, it would be a mistake to think they will have an easy time of it against Falkirk.
That being said, Falkirk have won just one of their last four league games, coming into this fixture. So, they are not a team in form at the moment, which could help Celtic.
It will be very interesting to see how Martin O'Neill lines Celtic up after the extra-time display we saw from the likes of Kelechi Iheanacho, James Forrest and a few others. Will he give them starts or stick with the impact substitute route to make the most of the opposition's tired legs towards the end of the games?
Meanwhile, the Scottish FA have announced the officials for the matchup. Ryan Lee will be the referee on the day. He will be assisted by Jonathan Bell and Dougie Potter. Chris Graham will be on VAR duty with Greg Aitken as his assistant when Celtic take on Falkirk.
Lee's record when it comes to refereeing Celtic games could be viewed as a positive for the Hoops.
Lee has been the referee for two Celtic games this season, with the Glasgow giants winning both times. Interestingly, he refereed a matchup with Falkirk earlier in the season as well, which ended in a 4-0 victory for the Hoops. Fans will be very pleased if we see a similar result again.
Of course, Celtic won't be thinking about past results or the refereeing team when preparing for this game. They will look to be at their very best to get past Falkirk and keep the pressure on Rangers and Hearts in the title race.
With just five games left to be played in the league this season, none of the three teams can afford to drop any points if they want to be crowned champions. It is fair to say that this is the closest title race we have witnessed in decades when it comes to Scotland.
