Djeidi Gassama has attracted interest from elsewhere, but the winger remains keen to stay at Rangers amid plans for further wide-area business.
Rangers winger Djeidi Gassama has been the talk of the town, with transfer interest coming in from a handful of clubs this summer.
However, the Mauritanian footballer remains keen on staying at Ibrox despite the options at his disposal.
The 22-year-old's contract with the Scottish giants lasts for three more seasons. The winger featured in the Gers' last pre-season game.
Gassama started the match against West Ham United as the Light Blues played out a goalless draw.
Regardless, the winger's longer-term prospects might come under scrutiny as Rangers assess further additions on the flanks.
Providing an update on The Rangers Review's live blog before the friendly against West Ham, journalist Chris Jack seemed confident in the Mauritian's future.
There is a bit of interest in him this summer, but nothing has materialised as yet. He is keen to stay at Ibrox.
While the Ibrox recruitment team continues strengthening the flanks, Gassama remains a situation to watch.
Despite the interest, however, clubs are yet to submit a formal offer, further undermining an immediate exit.
Gassama joined Rangers from Sheffield Wednesday in July 2025. The winger cost the Gers £2.2m, signing a four-year contract at the time.
Rangers still hold an option to secure his stay for another season, but the expiration date is far away and doesn't mean much at the moment.
Likewise, the Scottish giants are in a pretty strong position if interest from these clubs develops before the window closes.
A product of the Paris Saint-Germain academy, Gassama has made 56 appearances for Rangers across all competitions.
He's scored nine goals and assisted six times during his time in Glasgow, with six of those strikes arriving in Europe.
The winger scored in both legs of Rangers' Champions League second-round qualifier against Panathinaikos last summer.
He also netted two goals in the first leg of the third round against Czech side Viktoria Plzen.
Gassama went on to score two goals in the Europa League last season as Rangers failed to qualify for the Champions League.
The 22-year-old's pace and ability to operate on either flank continue to make him a useful member of the squad.
McInnes has also hinted at having clear intentions, as Gassama was included against the Gers' last pre-season opponents.
This suggests that the Scottish manager might not be thinking of a season without the winger.
However, with the club pushing for recruitment on the flank, the picture might change by the end of the transfer window.
A new arrival will increase competition for places. Likewise, an attractive offer could change Rangers' mind about Gassama.
Regardless, the winger's preferences have been heard, and no further bids have strengthened his position under McInnes.
