The Gers will now take on the Hoops at Celtic Park, intent on closing the gap in the Scottish Premiership table this weekend.
Derek McInnes' men are expected to turn up for that game with increased confidence levels and a lot fresher than their opponents.
The Light Blues will have a full week to prepare for that crucial fixture, unlike the Celts, who play Ferencvaros in the Europa League this Thursday.
As it seems, Rangers' derby hero Dan Neil wants his team to stay grounded ahead of the league tie against their cross-town rivals, despite the dominant display last Sunday.
Neil sent a cautious message to his teammates (BBC), saying, "They're a good team, and there's going to be a reaction, and it's at their place. Although we've won on Sunday, by no means have we over-celebrated. We know that it's job done this week, but we've got a massive game in the league."
"We got through in the League Cup, which is brilliant, and we are going to Hampden with a chance of a final.
"But we're under no illusion about the league and the points at the minute, and full focus is on next week before the international break."
Neil played a true captain's knock during last Sunday's League Cup quarter-final clash against Celtic, scoring twice on the occasion and helping out his teammates in almost every area of the pitch.
Continuing with that leadership role, the 24-year-old midfielder has now urged the Gers not to get carried away with last Sunday's results and already set their sights on the next assignment.
Just like the rest of the squad this season, Neil had a fairly difficult start to the campaign following his arrival this summer.
McInnes' decision to hand him the vice-captaincy at the start of the season was heavily criticized by almost everyone around the club.
