Frosinone looks to secure Fares Ghedjemis' future following a stellar Serie A start, potentially ending Rangers' pursuit as contract renewal talks gain momentum in Italy.

According to an update by TransferFeed, Serie A side Frosinone are keen to renewing the contract of Fares Ghedjemis to put cold water in Rangers' interest in signing him.

The Old Firm clubs, Celtic and Rangers, sent offers to Frosinone, who were then looking to selling their players, including Ghedjemis. However, the Italian clubs rejected the Scottish pair's advances despite the transfer fees reaching close enough to their original asking price.

Frosinone's entire transfer strategy has changed as they head into the international break, by being in the top six of Serie A. They do not want to let go of their players, who have helped them reach this spot in the season, and undoubtedly, Ghedjemis has played an influential role in it. Last season, he scored 15 goals in 37 Serie B appearances to shoot the club into the Italian top flight.

Ghedjemis represented Algeria in the 2026 World Cup, and Frosinone has decided to keep their cards close to their chest without cashing in on them for an immediate profit. The Massimiliano Alvini-led side are working to find an agreement with the player to extend his stay at the club. Rangers have been pushing after getting rejected by Frosinone earlier, and it seems that the Algerian international is aware of this interest from Glasgow.

It will not be an easy task for the Gers to sign, as rivals Celtic and several Championship clubs are gunning for his signature by providing him substantial game time.
