Rangers have officially confirmed one of their players' departure on a loan move to Scottish Premiership side Dundee United.

The summer transfer window seems far from over for Rangers, as they appear to be working on a few late moves before the Scottish transfer window closes this Thursday.

The Gers have already strengthened their squad with 11 new additions during this transfer window, following their failures last season.

However, the Ibrox faithful are already questioning the club's recruitment process this summer as the Light Blues failed to qualify for any European competition for the first time since 2017.

As a result, Derek McInnes might look to cut short the strength of his current squad by letting go of players who have been pushed down the pecking order due to the recent additions.

Lyall Cameron seems to be one of them, as the Gers have now confirmed (h/t Rangers X) the departure of the Scottish international on a loan move to Premiership side, Dundee United.

The 23-year-old is no stranger to Dundee, having previously made a name for himself at Dundee FC before moving to Glasgow last summer.

Cameron scored 14 goals and provided 9 assists in his final season with the Dark Blues, which seemingly impressed former Rangers manager Phillipe Clement, who decided to sign him on a pre-contract.

Unfortunately, by the time Cameron arrived at Ibrox, Clement was already replaced by Russel Martin as the new manager of the Teddy Bears.

The versatile midfielder opened his account with the Gers with a goal against Victoria Plzen, during their Champions League qualifying round.

But his brilliant start to life at Rangers was seemingly short-lived, as the managerial changes seemingly dampened his chances to succeed at Ibrox.

Cameron was eventually loaned to Aberdeen during the January transfer window and played a pivotal role in their campaign last summer, making 16 appearances for the Dons.

Now, upon the midfielder's return to his parent club this summer, Cameron faced a challenging scenario, as the Gers decided to sign the likes of Vanja Dragojevic, Dan Neil and Cammy Devlin in order to strengthen their midfield for the campaign.

As a result, it was obvious that Cameron was worried about his minutes under McInnes this campaign. Consequently, all the stakeholders decided that it would be better for the player to continue his development with another Premiership-based club where he would get more playing time.

Although the young midfielder might need to put up with the Dundee FC fans' antics at times despite coming out through United's academy, Cameron's move to Tannadice Park might sting the Dens Park faithful later on during this campaign.
