Kim Min-su, a recent Rangers arrival last August, has already earned his first South Korean call-up after just three months in the Scottish Premiership, which suggests he's doing something right.

This Sept. 14, South Korea's squad list was published for the international break. In the list provided by interim coach Roberto Moreno, Rangers player Kim Min-su's first call-up stood out. His strong performances since arriving in Scotland this summer have not gone unnoticed in Seoul, so he has earned this reward, which he will need to take advantage of and show the coach what he is made of.

According to Rangers News, Min-su joined the South Korea camp later than his teammates because Derek McInnes added him to his starting eleven to face Celtic in the Old Firm last Sunday. In this match, the Gwangju-born player again delivered a strong performance, as did his team, which once again imposed itself on its archrival. Since stepping onto South Korean soil, he has been greeted by several fans who have followed his short but interesting spell in Scottish football.

The atmosphere for the South Korean national team is one of maximum demand, since it comes from a controversial performance in the World Cup, as it could not qualify for the next round - after losing against Mexico and South Africa, only being able to beat Czechia - in the World Cup tournament that again had the opportunity for the best third places in the group to qualify for the next round, something that had not happened since the 1994 United States edition.

This terrible performance caused massive fury in the Asian country, mainly toward the coach at that time, Hong Myung-bo. It even became political, as the president called for a full investigation into the Korea Football Association. By the end of July, both the coach and the Federation president had to resign.

On Sept. 24, South Korea faces Ecuador in Suwon; big names such as Son Heung-min, Lee Kang-in, and Kim Min-jae will attend the call-up to stabilize the locker room after what happened this summer. Without a doubt, it is not the best atmosphere for Min-su to make his debut, but at the same time, his country requires new figures to give the team a breath of fresh air.

In addition to Ecuador, they will face Uruguay, Venezuela and Uzbekistan in what will be the first international break of the season. After that, Min-su will have to return to Glasgow to report to the team and refocus on the league. Only 2 points separate him from Celtic, which currently leads the overall table.
