The Scottish FA have made an official announcement regarding the upcoming game between Rangers and Kilmarnock.

Rangers will look to continue their winning run against an out-of-form Kilmarnock side at Ibrox this Saturday.

The Gers are the favourites to take all three points on this occasion, which would allow them to topple Celtic and sit atop the Scottish Premiership table, at least until their rivals' game against Motherwell the following day.

Despite the game being a cakewalk on paper, Derek McInnes and co. will find it difficult to maintain their momentum after a long international break.

However, the Light Blues should really feel fortunate as none of their players received any injuries while playing for their respective national sides.

So, this one could get interesting. And the Scottish FA have now confirmed the officials for the game between Rangers and Kilmarnock.

The Scottish FA have announced that referee Mathew MacDermid will be the referee when the Gers host the Killies this Saturday.MacDermid will be assisted by Chris Rae and Ross Anderson on the pitch, while Grant Irvine will oversee VAR, assisted by Gary Hilland. George Calder has been named as fourth official.

Obviously, the refereeing often ends up being a point of discussion in Scottish football. One would hope that there are no controversial decisions on the day and no debate about the referee's decisions after the game.

As for MacDermid, the 33-year-old referee officiated the Teddy Bears' 1-0 victory over Aberdeen earlier this season.

The Gers are certainly a much more organized side than they were during that game, and the recent run of results speaks for itself.

McInnes' men will now look to take their winning streak to seven games this Saturday after going into the international break with two back-to-back Old Firm victories under their belt.

Derby victories always play a big role in boosting the morale of any side, and that has been the case at Ibrox.Seemingly, there is a positive vibe around the club regarding the newly revamped squad.

Playing Kilmarnock at home could turn out to be a perfect way for the Gers to pick up from where they left off before the start of the international break.

But the challenge to regroup and refocus on the task ahead is always there, and being complacent should be the last thing on the minds of McInnes and co.

With no European football this season, the Light Blues won't have to play any midweek fixtures this month until their game against Hearts—scheduled for the 28th of October.

After which they will take on Aberdeen at Hampden Park on the final day of this month for a place in the final of the Scottish League Cup.
