Feyenoord have reportedly approached Rangers over Bojan Miovski, with a loan exit possible once Kevin Kelsy’s Ibrox move is finalised.

Rangers striker Bojan Miovski has emerged as a late transfer option for Feyenoord following Ayase Ueda’s move to Lille. Sky Sports and The Rangers Review report that the Dutch club have set their sights on the North Macedonia international.

Algemeen Dagblad are also said to have corroborated Feyenoord’s interest. Reports suggest that Feyenoord made an initial enquiry on Monday to establish the terms of a possible deal.

Likewise, contact has also been made with Miovski’s representatives, although there is no suggestion of an agreement at this stage. A loan is understood to be among the options. Rangers are reportedly willing to sanction a temporary exit for the 27-year-old if their proposed signing of Portland Timbers striker Kevin Kelsy is finalised.

Feyenoord’s need has sharpened after Ueda completed a permanent transfer to Lille. The Rotterdam club confirmed the move on Monday evening, ending a spell in which the Japanese forward scored 43 goals in 112 appearances.

Miovski scored 44 times in 98 appearances for Aberdeen before joining Girona in 2024, demonstrating penalty-box movement and finishing in a physical league. Former Rangers manager Giovanni van Bronckhorst, now back in charge at De Kuip, will also understand the pressure attached to performing at Ibrox.

Miovski joined Rangers from Girona on a four-year contract in August 2025. He registered 13 goals across 41 appearances during his first campaign at Ibrox, but regular starts proved harder to secure despite that respectable return.

His position has weakened further under Derek McInnes. Miovski was omitted from the squad for Sunday’s 1-0 victory over former club Aberdeen, while Lawrence Shankland and Ryan Naderi currently offer alternative options through the middle.

He is yet to make a Premiership appearance this season, further signalling his situation under McInnes. Miovski has only played 30 minutes this season, equally divided between a Europa League and a Conference League qualification game.

Kelsy’s anticipated arrival would create another obstacle once Youssef Chermiti returns from his long-term knee injury. Allowing Miovski to leave could therefore provide him with regular football while trimming a crowded area of the Rangers squad.

However, Miovski remains contracted until 2029, so Rangers should not weaken their control over a forward capable of scoring consistently in Scotland without receiving suitable value or retaining a clear route to reassess his future.

Feyenoord’s vacancy gives the Light Blues a credible route to resolve Miovski’s immediate lack of minutes. The Ibrox hierarchy must now decide whether a straight loan serves their longer-term interests, but only after Kelsy’s move is safely completed.
