Rangers have reportedly ruled out a move for Ferencvaros forward Lenny Joseph after claims that the Light Blues admired the 25-year-old.
Rangers reportedly have no interest in signing Ferencvaros forward Lenny Joseph, despite fresh claims linking the 25-year-old with a move to Ibrox. Foot Mercato had previously reported that the Light Blues seriously admired Joseph’s profile and held genuine transfer interest in the Haitian international.
The French outlet added that Ferencvaros would demand at least £5.1m for a player whose contract in Budapest is said to run until 2028, with other unnamed clubs also monitoring his situation.
However, Rangers Review journalist Chris Jack firmly dismissed that suggestion before Sunday's Premiership meeting with Aberdeen. Giving an update on X, he said, "There is no interest in Lenny Joseph."
It remains a strong update from someone close to Ibrox. Nevertheless, the striker might be of the Gers' use following Youssef Chermiti's injury. The Haitian international scored 16 goals and 10 assists in 48 appearances across all competitions during the 2025/26 season.
Joseph also scored four times in eight Europa League qualifying matches this season. Born in Paris, the striker has spent most of his career in France and has only recently made a move abroad.
He previously played for Grenoble before joining Ferencvaros in January 2025. Subsequently, a debut for Haiti followed in June as he scored against New Zealand before making the World Cup squad.
The 25-year-old played all three of Haiti's World Cup games, but unfortunately his country was knocked out during the group stage. Nevertheless, Joseph's versatility is one of the attractive features of his game.
He can play both centrally and from wider positions. The forward's young age also offers strong resale potential without compromising on experience. His Europa League performances further prove his range beyond the domestic environment.
However, a £5.1m bet would be a significant bet for the Light Blues. Derek McInnes has nevertheless looked elsewhere to bring in a striker. Rangers are very close to signing Venezuelan striker Kimber Kelsey from Portland Timbers.
The Ibrox side are paying £9.5m for the South American's services, which is a big commitment from the buyers. Nevertheless, medicals are still pending, and a full agreement has yet to be reached by both clubs.
While McInnes might settle here considering the signings he's made over the course of the window, there might still be some positions he thinks he can improve upon. For Joseph, though, there might be no interest from Rangers, and he'll probably continue playing in Hungary unless another club jumps in.
