Olympiacos are eyeing a bold swoop for Fiorentina's Dodo, potentially displacing new signing Marcus Pedersen as Jose Luis Mendilibar reshapes his backline for Europe.
According to a report by Sport24.gr, Olympiacos have begun talks with Serie A outfit Fiorentina over a possible transfer for right-back Dodo.
The news would come as a surprise to many Olympiacos fans since the club recently secured the services of Marcus Pedersen on a permanent transfer from Torino. The Norwegian international was expected to feature as head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar's starter in the right-back role, but now things could quickly change.
The Red and Whites are predicted to have sent an offer worth €10 million to Fiorentina, and has been in contact with the Brazilian's entourage to find an agreement on personal terms. He currently earns €1.5 million net per year in salary at the Florence-based side, and Olympiacos are set to pay a figure around that.
