Out-of-favor striker Arnaud Kalimuendo seeks a January escape from Nottingham Forest with Olympiacos leveraging shared ownership to beat Eintracht Frankfurt to the Frenchman's signature.
According to a report by media outlet Sportime.gr, French forward Arnaud Kalimuendo has attracted interest from Greek side Olympiacos. Piraues are reportedly looking to bring in the player on a loan deal in the upcoming transfer window when it opens in January 2027. The player is currently under contract with English side Nottingham Forest. According to Transfermarkt, the forward is currently valued at €25 million in the market.
As per the news published by Sportime.gr, Kalimuendo is unhappy with the minutes that he is receiving at the Tricky Trees; the 24-year-old forward has played on a mere two occassions since August. This situation has facilitated a temporary exit for the player in January, and Olympiacos is considered a strong contender to be his preferred destination.
It is worth noting that Olympiacos will have to enter a tussle with Eintracht Frankfurt if they want to secure the services of Kalimuendo, as the German side are also, reportedly, interested in the player. However, it is being said that the joint ownership of Olympiacos and Nottingham Forest will give an edge to the former if indeed a transfer battle for the Frenchman begins between the clubs involved.
Graduating from the academy of French club Paris Saint-Germain, Kalimuendo made his debut for the senior team in 2020, and was sent on a season-long deal to fellow Ligue 1 side RC Lens. Following the end of his loan deal, he returned to PSG, and was again sent on loan to Lens for the 2021-22 season. He permanently left the French capital in 2022, and joined Stade Rennais FC.
At Rennais, he established himself as a top forward, scoring 34 league goals in 93 appearances over 3 seasons. In 2025, Kalimuendo joined his current club, Nottingham Forest, and has since played 10 league games for the Tricky Trees. The forward spent the later half of the 2025-26 season on a loan at Eintracht Frankfurt.
While he has not yet played for the senior squad of the France National Football Team, Kalimuendo has made appearances for the U-16, U-18 and U-21 squads of the team, as well as the France Olympic Football Team.
It remains to be seen whether Arnaud Kalimuendo indeed joins Olympiacos on loan during the upcoming January transfer window. A move away from the City Ground will definitely provide the talented forward with the minutes that he needs for further development of his skills.
