Olympiacos are eyeing their ninth straight win against Kifisia, a feat they haven't achieved since 2019 under Pedro Martins.

And now Kifisia arrives, and with it an important challenge for Olympiacos, since it has the opportunity to reach nine consecutive wins, something it has not achieved since 2019.

At the time, under Pedro Martins, the Red-and-Whites finished the season with nine straight wins from April to May. Although the Portuguese coach had not won any titles in his first season in charge, Evangelos Marinakis trusted him and kept him in the job, and the events that followed fully justified that decision.

Now it is Imanol Alguacil's turn to guide Olympiacos toward an equally impressive feat. The Piraeus team has already racked up eight straight wins and can match Martins' streak if it prevails on Saturday at the Avenue.

In fact, with this performance, Imanol matched the team's last major winning streak, under José Luis Mendilibar, with five wins at the end of 2025 and three more at the start of 2026.

However, the task against Kifisia will not be easy. The red-and-whites know Sebastián Leto's team is a particularly demanding rival, but they are determined to overcome this obstacle.

After all, Imanol's Olympiacos has shown excellent defensive performance, with its solidity in blocks a key factor in its successful run. Notably, in its last seven matches, it has not conceded a goal.

The Basque coach, for his part, makes sure his players stay fully focused, stressing that what they've achieved so far is already in the past. Everyone's attention is on the upcoming matches and the opportunities ahead.

A win could propel Olympiacos to the top of the standings, while the Piraeus team awaits the result of Sunday's derby between Panathinaikos and AEK.

As for the starting lineup, Imanol is looking to field his usual players again, now that he has everyone available. Stefan Ortega is expected to return in goal, aiming to maintain his impressive defensive streak. At full-back, Pedersen and Tiknizyan are the most likely starters, while Retsos and Pirola would return to the center of defense.

In midfield, Puerta and Freuler appear to have secured places in the starting XI, while Chiquinho, who is rested, is expected to play behind the forward.

Up front, Armando 'Hormiga' González is the main candidate, since he wasn't called up for the match against Marko. On the wings of the attacking line, Jota Silva is expected to cover one flank, while Joel Roca is the preferred option on the other.
