Olympiacos enter a fierce bidding war for Ilan Kebbal, battling Premier League and MLS interest to secure the prolific Algerian playmaker for a bargain fee.

Olympiacos have joined the race to sign Paris FC attacking-midfielder Ilan Kebbal.

According to a report by journalist Santi Aouna via TransferFeed, Olympiacos have submitted a bid to Ligue 1 side Paris FC to seal the potential transfer of Ilan Kebbal. The 28-year-old will slot in perfectly without any bureaucratic delays in the Olympiacos squad since he holds a French passport.

The Red and Whites are set to compete with several undisclosed MLS clubs for Kebbal. Alongside American outfits, the Greek giants will have to compete with the likes of Al-Fateh, Premier League side Hull City and French club Marseille for his signature.

The Algerian international's contract with Paris FC expires in July 2028. Last season, he featured in 29 appearances, scoring nine goals and registering four assists. Kebbal also has four caps with his national team. He joined the Paris-based side in 2023 and has starred over 50 times in Ligue 2.

Kebbal is valued at €12 million by Transfermarkt. However, Paris FC are asking for a transfer fee in the region of €10 million plus bonuses, which would significantly raise his final package. Olympiacos' bid remains a private one as of now.

Kebbal began his career with the French academy side Burel, and then moved on to Marignane Gignac. The Algerian moved on to the reserve teams of Bordeaux and Stade de Reims before making his first-team debut on loan with Dunkerque in a 1-0 Ligue 2 victory over Toulouse on 22 August 2020. He joined Paris on loan during the 2022-23 season, and the French capital outfit made him a permanent signing in the summer transfer window of 2023.

In other news, Armando  'La Hormiga' Gonzalez has officially completed a permanent move to Olympiacos ahead of the new season. Reports from Greece and Mexico said that he signed from Chivas de Guadalajara on a $13 million package, including bonuses. The Mexican club retains 20% of his future resale rights.

"I am very happy. I thank God for giving me the opportunity to go there. Money doesn't matter to me. Olympiacos is the biggest team in Greece; I like it a lot," were his first words as a Thrylos player. In the last two seasons in the Liga MX, Gonzalez netted 24 times and made two assists. His signing is expected to make way for the departures of Mehdi Taremi and Roman Yaremchuk from the club. Both of these forwards have been searching for a future away from the Piraeus club for quite some time now.
