Olympiacos is targeting Famalicao right-back Rodrigo Pinheiro as a second reinforcement for the position, transfer correspondent Ekrem Konur has exclusively told Roundtable.
OlympiacosRoundtable understands that Olympiacos F.C. has begun working on signing another right-back, in addition to the already almost secured Pablo Maffeo. It is a 23-year-old Portuguese player.
Thrylos is close to signing the aforementioned Argentine full-back. According to reports from Fabrizio Romano, Maffeo, 28, is expected in Greece on June 17 to finalize his arrival at the Piraeus club.
That said, Olympiacos continues to work behind the scenes to reinforce the right-back position with another player. Head coach Jose Luis Mendilibar has already stated that, for him, Brazilian player Rodinei is a winger and not a defender, so it is logical that the club is looking for more than one signing in that area of the pitch.
The solution seems to be in Portugal. Famalicao right-back Rodrigo Pinheiro is at the top of Mendilibar's team's wish list, sources have told OlympiacosRoundtable's transfer correspondent, Ekrem Konur.

Olympiacos reportedly had advanced talks to sign Levadiakos' Triantafyllos Tsapras, but a supposed offer from Italy changed everything, forcing the club to look for other alternatives. Similar to the Tsapras case, Pinheiro will not be an easy signing either.
To start with, there is the price. OlympiacosRoundtable learned that Famalicao is demanding €7 million. "No proposal below this figure will be accepted," transfer correspondent Konur told us. Additionally, the Portuguese full-back has attracted interest from multiple clubs, so the Red and Whites are not alone in this race.
While Maffeo's signing was managed independently, the Greek club plans to use funds from the sale of right-back Costinha, who has almost everything arranged to join Brighton & Hove Albion, to finance Pinheiro's signing.
Next week is expected to be key for significant developments regarding both Costinha's departure and Pinheiro's potential arrival. According to what we have been told, Olympiacos is convinced that the 23-year-old Portuguese full-back will have an immediate impact, especially because of the tactical flexibility he would provide to Mendilibar.
Pinheiro played 29 matches for Famalicao during the 2025-26 season, scoring three goals and providing two assists. In 2025, he played five matches for the Portugal U21 national team, scoring one goal.
Seems like a very good option to reinforce the defense, but the complications posed by competition and the price are not to be ignored. Let's wait and see.
