Olympiacos and Bayern Munich battle for Orlando Gill as San Lorenzo rejects initial bids, while Fabrizio Romano dismisses links between the shot-stopper and Manchester United.

Olympiacos are locked in a transfer battle with Bayern Munich for the signing of Orlando Gill, as Manchester United rumours are quashed by an Italian transfer expert.

According to an update by Fabrizio Romano via TransferFeed, rumours linking Paraguayan goalkeeping star Orlando Gill with Manchester United were rejected, after his country's media reported that he was contacted by the Premier League side.

This new development puts Olympiacos as the sole club right now to have expressed a definite approval for the player. The Greek giants had their first bid rejected by the Argentine Primera Division side San Lorenzo few days back. However, negotiations between the two clubs have continued since then to find an agreement soon.

In June 2026, Gill's asking price was between €3 million and €5 million, but his market value is expected to have increased after a reasonably positive World Cup campaign with Paraguay, beating Germany in the Round of 32, before bowing out against France.

Currently, the 26-year-old's price remains undisclosed, and it is clear that Olympiacos were not able to reach it in their initial offer. San Lorenzo have stood by their demands, and are assessing the situation, trying to attract more clubs to join the race.

As per an earlier update on TransferFeed, Bayern Munich have expressed a strong interest in Gill. Last season's Bundesliga champions are yet to present an official bid to San Lorenzo to secure the player, but they are keeping an eye on him should things take a turn. The goalkeeper has a release clause set at 7 million euros with the Argentine top-flight club. However, interested parties from Europe will aim to enter negotiations to get good value out of a potential transfer.

Multiple reports in Paraguay conveyed that Man United staged primary talks with San Lorenzo for their first-choice keeper. The developments were flagged as untrue by Fabrizio Romano later, as The Red Devils are not looking at the market for a new goalkeeper.

Meanwhile, Olympiacos must land a reliable keeper soon, as academy graduate and first-choice man Konstantinos Tzolakis is set to join newly promoted Premier League side Hull City. His transfer has possibly been held up by bureaucratic delays as the clubs are still in talks to find an agreement, per a recent report on Roundtable.

Regardless of this news, Tzolakis is on his way out of the Piraeus side, but he leave the club with a significant revenue boost, using which the Red and Whites can sign a new man in between the sticks.
