With the summer transfer window approaching, speculation about potential signings by Europe's biggest clubs continues to grow.
This is the case for Olympiacos, who are focused on strengthening their squad to be competitive next season while also planning their strategy for the UEFA Champions League qualifying rounds.
One area to reinforce for the Greek team is defense. Specifically, the center-back position, considering that it is most likely that Lorenzo Pirola, who is of interest to Serie A side Como, will leave the club.
It is in this sense that the name of Union Berlin center-back Diogo Leite gains relevance, as he has been linked to Thrylos on more than one occasion. However, Jose Luis Mendilibar's team is far from the only one in the race for his signature.

He added, "Real Sociedad, Everton, Eintracht Frankfurt, and Besiktas remain among the teams already in contact."
Although the cited journalist did not specify which Saudi club it is, being owned by PIF, it could be Al-Nassr, Al-Ittihad, Al-Ahli, or Al-Hilal.
According to Gazzetta.gr, Olympiacos began contacts to investigate a possible signing of Leite a little over a month ago. Well, apparently, the Greeks will have strong competition.
In recent days, not only Pirola, 24, has been linked to an exit from Thrylos. Another defender who seems to generate interest abroad is Giulian Biancone. The 26-year-old Frenchman appears to be a priority target for RC Lens, a team that competed for the Ligue 1 title with PSG until the end of the season and is qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
"Biancone is a choice of the club's technical director, Jean-Louis Leca, and a move for his acquisition is considered possible. Since the defender's contract expires next summer, Lens will need to reach a financial agreement with Olympiacos to complete any potential deal," specialized site TransferFeed explained.
