Olympiacos is eyeing Sabah's Steve Solvet, according to L'Equipe. The 30-year-old center-back's contract expires in 2027, so he could sign in January.

Olympiacos is interested in Sabah defender Steve Solvet, according to L'Equipe (h/t Sport24). The 30-year-old center-back, from Guadeloupe (1.91 m), plays for the Azerbaijani team, which is participating in the Champions League for the first time in its history.

His contract expires in 2027, meaning that from January he can sign for any other team with a view to next summer. Sabah are trying to reach an agreement with him, and L'Equipe is currently linking him to the Red-and-White team.

According to the French publication, Olympiacos and Saudi Arabian club Al-Khalij have been trying to sign Solvet since January, seeking an agreement.

Solvet has played for Sabah since 2025, after spending time in the youth ranks of Strasbourg and Dijon. He made the jump to the Azerbaijan national team and has featured in both Champions League matches.

Meanwhile, Olympiacos is also working on possible departures. According to a TransferFeed report, Argentine midfielder Lorenzo Scipioni is considering a move away from Piraeus in the January transfer window, as the 21-year-old no longer seems to be part of manager Imanol Alguacil’s plans.

According to the report, the fact that the midfielder was brought on the field for a mere five minutes against an opponent from Super League Greece 2, the second tier of the Greek football pyramid, is testament to the fact that the player is no longer a part of the manager's plans regarding the squad.

They wrote, “It is suggested that Lorenzo Scipioni is not trusted by the Piraeus coach after he played for five minutes in a match against an opponent from Super League 2. It is considered possible that he will leave during the January transfer window.”

Scipioni’s current contract with Olympiacos runs until 30 June 2029, with an option to extend it by one year. His previous club, Tigre, has a 20% sell-on clause if Olympiacos sells him.

Currently valued at €3.5 million on the market, the 21-year-old's transfer would mean both his previous and current clubs would receive a substantial sum.

Getting back to Solvet, it seems a little bit odd that the sporting directors are betting on such a veteran, as they've been buying young talents from different leagues across Europe and even the Americas, with Armando Gonzalez, Gustavo Puerta, Santiago Hezze, and Lorenzo Scipioni himself as clear examples of that strategy.
