After not playing in the WNBA in 2025, Chennedy Carter is back, signing a training-camp contract with the Las Vegas Aces.
Las Vegas superstar A'ja Wilson is glad to have Carter on her side after being on the wrong side a couple of times.
Carter played for the Chicago Sky in 2024, averaging 17.5 points, 3.5 rebounds and 3.1 assists per game. She was the fourth overall pick in the 2020 WNBA Draft by the Atlanta Dream.
Carter spent 2022 playing for the Los Angeles Sparks. She averaged 8.9 points, 1.9 rebounds and 1.9 assists per game.
Carter didn't play in the WNBA in 2023. She holds career averages of 14.6 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in 84 contests.
Carter is a three-time medalist with USA Basketball, winning gold at the 2016 FIBA U18 AmeriCup and silver medals at the 2017 FIBA U19 World Cup and 2019 Pan American Games. She has extensive international experience playing in China, Israel, Mexico, Poland and Turkey.
A two-time All-American and 2018 USBWA National Freshman of the Year, Carter played three years at Texas A&M (2017-2020) before joining the WNBA.
The Aces won the championship last season. They also won it all in 2023 and 2022.
For Las Vegas last season, Wilson averaged 23.4 points and 10.2 rebounds per game. She won her fourth MVP and third Defensive Player of the Year Award.
With Wilson leading the way again, the Aces are the betting favorite to repeat as champions in 2026.
Wilson is universally recognized as the best player in the WNBA. She enters this season with career averages of 21.4 points and 9.3 rebounds per game. The 29-year-old is a two-time Finals MVP and seven-time All-Star.
