Stephanie White said Aliyah Boston's early exit came from a flare-up of her previous lower leg injury, while Ty Harris also left with an ankle injury.
Aliyah Boston's early exit Thursday came from a flare-up of the same lower leg injury that bothered her earlier in the season, Indiana Fever coach Stephanie White said, according to ESPN's Kareem Copeland. The Fever lost the WNBA regular-season finale 86-66 to the Minnesota Lynx at Target Center.
White did not have an update on Ty Harris, who was carried off the floor in the third quarter.
Boston Exits With Lower Leg Injury
With a little less than three minutes left in the first half, Boston checked out. She did not start the second half, and Indiana ruled her out for the rest of the night during the third quarter with a right lower leg injury. She finished with 4 points on 2-of-5 shooting and 3 rebounds.
On Aug. 23, the Fever ruled Boston out with a right lower leg injury before a 113-90 win over the Chicago Sky at Wintrust Arena, the second night of a back-to-back. She also sat out games on July 8 and July 17, both on the front end of back-to-backs.
In February, Boston hurt her right lower leg in the final regular-season game of Unrivaled, the 3-on-3 offseason league. She missed the Unrivaled playoffs, the FIBA World Cup qualifiers in Puerto Rico in March, and Indiana's first two preseason games.
Ty Harris Carried Off With Ankle Injury
Harris went down with about 3:30 left in the third quarter and Indiana trailing 74-38. She had attacked the rim for a layup, and staff carried her back to the locker room after she landed. The Fever ruled her out shortly afterward with a left ankle injury.
She had 4 points and 2 assists in 11 minutes. Through 39 games in her first season with Indiana, Harris averaged 4.1 points, 1.1 rebounds, and 2.0 assists. She came to the Fever after a knee injury limited her to five games with the Dallas Wings in 2025.
Lynx Cruise Past Fever in Regular-Season Finale
Minnesota scored 32 points in the first quarter and led 62-32 at halftime. The lead reached 36. White pulled her remaining starters in the third quarter.
Kayla McBride scored 22 points and made 6-of-10 3-pointers. Natasha Howard added 21 points and 8 rebounds on 9-of-11 shooting, and Courtney Williams had 10 assists. Minnesota again played without Olivia Miles, who was ruled out with a calf injury.
Caitlin Clark finished with 2 points, 4 rebounds, and 3 assists on 1-of-12 shooting, missing all seven of her 3-point attempts. Kelsey Mitchell scored 10 points on 3-of-12 shooting. Indiana went 5-of-32 from 3-point range. Monique Billings grabbed 10 rebounds off a bench that scored 43 of Indiana's 66 points.
Two nights earlier, the Fever beat the Lynx 96-77 in Indianapolis.
Fever Fall to No. 6 Seed
Thursday's loss left Indiana at 28-16. The Washington Mystics beat the Sky 101-93 earlier in the night to finish 28-16 as well, and the Mystics, who set a franchise record with their 27th win, hold the tiebreaker after winning the season series 2-1. Washington takes the No. 5 seed, one of four left open entering the final night. Indiana is No. 6 for the third straight season.
The Fever open the best-of-three first round of the playoffs on the road Sunday, Sept. 27, against the No. 3 seed. The Golden State Valkyries and Las Vegas Aces were still playing for the No. 2 and No. 3 seeds in Thursday's late games. The higher seed hosts Game 1 and, if necessary, Game 3.
