Arike Ogunbowale scored 22 and Jessica Shepard had 15 points and 15 rebounds as the Wings routed the Aces 96-66, their largest win in the series and Vegas' first loss in six.
ARLINGTON, Texas — Arike Ogunbowale scored 22 points with five 3-pointers, Jessica Shepard finished one assist shy of a triple-double, and the Dallas Wings beat the Las Vegas Aces 96-66 on Monday night for their fifth straight home win.
The 30-point win was the largest in the history of the Wings-Aces series and snapped Las Vegas' six-game winning streak. Dallas (9-5) has now beaten the Aces (10-4) twice this season, its first multi-win season against Las Vegas since 2018, and is responsible for half of their four losses.
Shepard had 15 points, 15 rebounds, and nine assists, one short of her third triple-double of the season. She had 22 points, 20 rebounds, and 10 assists in the teams' first meeting on May 28, a 95-87 Dallas win. Shepard moved into a tie with Angel Reese for the most double-doubles in the WNBA this season with nine.
Azzi Fudd added 19 points on a career-best 8-of-9 shooting. Paige Bueckers and Aziaha James each scored 10, and Bueckers handed out seven assists. Awak Kuier made her first start since September 2023 and scored seven points.
Dallas controlled the game from the opening quarter. The Wings shot 62.5% in the first to lead 29-20, then caught fire in the second. Dallas ran off 17 straight points, including four 3s, to lead 52-26. Las Vegas closed the half on a 9-0 run to get within 56-37, but Bueckers ended a six-minute Dallas scoring drought with a 3 early in the third to make it 59-39. The Wings led by double digits the rest of the way and took a 74-53 edge into the fourth.
Dallas emptied its bench late. Newly signed Sug Sutton hit her first basket in a Dallas uniform, and James pushed the lead to 30 with an and-1. The Wings shot 49.3% overall, made 10 3s for the sixth time this season, and reached 96 points for the fourth time this year. They committed a season-low eight turnovers and had three players hand out at least seven assists, only the second time in franchise history. Dallas outrebounded Las Vegas 41-31.
Jewell Loyd led the Aces with 21 points and five 3s off the bench, and A'ja Wilson added 18. Las Vegas shot a season-low 39.7% and matched its season low with 66 points. Chelsea Gray was scoreless in 29 minutes, and Jackie Young scored six on 3-of-13 shooting.
Both teams play Wednesday. Las Vegas visits Phoenix, and Dallas plays at Golden State.
