Caitlin Clark scored 24 points with 9 assists and Kelsey Mitchell added 23 as the Indiana Fever beat the Los Angeles Sparks 87-78 on Wednesday at Crypto.com Arena.

Sophie Cunningham added 12 points and 7 rebounds, making 2-of-5 three-pointers. Monique Billings posted 9 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 assists. She was assessed a defensive three-second technical foul in the second quarter. Aliyah Boston had 4 points, 7 rebounds, and 2 blocks before fouling out with 6 personal fouls.

Clark shot 9-of-17 from the field and made 1 of 7 three-pointers. She went 5-of-5 from the free-throw line and added 4 rebounds, 2 steals, and 1 block. Clark committed 6 turnovers and received a technical foul early in the third quarter. Mitchell shot 9-of-17 from the field, including 3-of-9 from three-point range, in 27 minutes.

The Fever shot 49.2% from the field and 9-of-30 (30%) from three-point range while going 16-of-19 (84.2%) from the free-throw line. Six different Fever players made a three-pointer. Indiana scored 24 points off 19 Sparks turnovers. The Fever improved to 1-1 on the season.

Kelsey Plum led the Sparks with 25 points on 9-of-16 shooting. Dearica Hamby added 16 points and 8 rebounds on 6-of-8 from the field. Cameron Brink scored 11 points with 5 rebounds and 3 blocks in 19 minutes off the bench. Brink is playing her first full season since tearing her left ACL in 2024. Nneka Ogwumike had 10 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Erica Wheeler added 2 points and 4 assists off the bench but committed 5 personal fouls.

Los Angeles shot 49.1% from the field but made just 2 of 15 three-point attempts (13.3%). The Sparks committed 19 turnovers leading to 24 Fever points. The Sparks got 11 of their 15 bench points from Brink. Los Angeles fell to 0-2 on the season.

The Fever led 24-20 after the first quarter and 48-34 at halftime. Indiana extended its lead to 68-52 after three quarters before Los Angeles outscored the Fever 26-19 in the fourth. The teams traded just three lead changes and were tied twice. Indiana led by as many as 21 points.

Los Angeles dominated points in the paint 46-36 and fast-break points 11-2.

Plum's 25 points came on 9-of-16 shooting and 6-of-8 from the free-throw line. She added 4 assists but committed 5 turnovers in 36 minutes.

Indiana was without Hall and Pissott.

Los Angeles was without Feagin (left leg), Martin, and Ziegler.
