WNBA guard Caitlin Clark has been named one of the three cover athletes for NBA 2K27, joining Victor Wembanyama and Derrick Rose as the faces of the latest installment of the popular basketball video game franchise.

Clark is the seventh WNBA player to be featured on the NBA 2K cover. The video game franchise began placing WNBA players on the cover in 2023. 

Candace Parker became the first WNBA player to be featured on the cover in 2023. Clark, who struggled with injury in 2025, has bounced back this season. 

Since NBA 2K began featuring players in 2023, the franchise has featured Parker, Diana Taurasi & Sue Bird, Sabrina Ionescu, A'ja Wilson, Angel Reese, and now Clark. NBA 2K announced the cover athletes on July 22. 

The official NBA 2k27 gameplay trailer will be released on July 28, and it will be released worldwide on September 4, 2026. The game will be released on PlayStation 5, XBOX Series X|S, PC via Steam, and Nintendo Switch 2. 

Players can access the game early on August 28 if they purchase the Deluxe and Ultra Editions. 

Clark is averaging a career-high 21 points per game while shooting 34.5 percent from three. While her three-point shot has fluctuated throughout the season, she has played 23 out of the teams 27 games.

The Fever guard has missed four games but has been on limited minutes throughout the season and is playing a career-low 29.2 minutes per game. Indiana is currently on a three-game winning streak after defeating the Connecticut Sun on July 22 and the New York Liberty on July 18.

Clark finished against the Seattle Storm with a career-high 45 points, ten assists, two rebounds, four steals, and two blocks while shooting 60 percent from three. However, she is one technical foul away from being suspended one game.

Clark received her sixth technical foul on July 18 as the Indiana Fever defeated the New York Liberty, and she received her seventh technical after a third-quarter exchange with Sun guard Saniya Rivers.

Both Clark and Rivers exchanged words after Sun center Olivia Nelson-Ododa fouled the Indiana guard. Right now, Clark is tied for most technicals in the WNBA with Atlanta Dream forward Angel Reese. 

The Fever guard has 15 technicals in her career. According to CBS Sports, she has struggled offensively against the Portland Fire and Golden State Valkyries. Despite a huge performance against the Sun, they struggle on defense, as they have a defensive rating of 1.040, which is 11th in the league.

While Clark is playing at a high level, she has struggled to remain consistent offensively against the top five teams due to her being put in pick-and-rolls on defense and teams isolating her.
